As a part of a research that I have been doing about learning English; one of the questions that we were asking to the students was : What do you think is the most difficult aspect of learning English?
By doing so , teachers gain so much, because we have the opportunity to help students out and to work on the aspects they think are really difficult.

THANKSGIVING DAY!

Thanksgivind day is celebrated with lot of fervor and merry-making in America. Celebrated on the fourth Thursday in the month of November every year, it is a time for communal thanksgiving, feeling gratitude, lavish feasts. It is a time to remember the pilgrims. The original pilgrims celebrated the autumn harvest with a feast of thanks. The feast popularly known as the 'First Thanksgiving Day Feast' was held as a gesture of thanks to almighty God . It was celebrated in the year 1621. After the United States gained independence, Congress recommended one yearly day of thanksgiving for the whole nation to celebrate.

Here there are some thanksgiving jokes:

• Q: Why did the police arrest the turkey?

A: They suspected it of fowl play.

• Q: Why did they let the turkey join the band?

A: Because he had the drumsticks

• Q: Why did the turkey cross the road?

A: It was the chicken's day off.

• Q: Who is not hungry at Thanksgiving?

A: The turkey because he's already stuffed!

You can work with your students writing a composition about that celebration, or you can bring wordsearch or puzzle, they will love it!

Teaching English as a Foreing Language

If you're considering teaching English as a foreign language, congratulations. You've chosen a career that many people don't attempt. Although it's one of the most rewarding jobs imaginable, the truth is that it can be a massive commitment. Of course, if you have a passion for it, then the work involved will be a true pleasure. There are two basic ways to teach English as a foreign language. One way is to do so in your home country. All over America and other English-speaking countries, there are English classes offered by the government and by various learning institutions. These classes are designed to help non-native English speakers learn English in a fast-paced, student-centered environment. Programs like this are great for EFL teachers who can't make the commitment to travel abroad.The other option is to teach English as a foreign language in another country. This is where the majority of teachers end up, since there is a much greater demand for teachers in the students' native countries. Teaching abroad is also considered more of a challenge because of the travel required- most teachers are expected to spend at least a year at a time in the country where they are employed. With the spread of English worldwide as an essential tool in business communication, many foreign students are ready to learn- and they're not always children. Corporations and businesses also hold English classes for their employees who must communicate overseas. If you're not afraid of travel, the field of job possibilities is nearly endless.

Teaching is not an easy task, people who have had the opportunity to do it know what I'm talking about! that's why im creating this blog, to help you out with some nice information about our profession, such as, activities , tips, pieces of advice, and different kind of resources for our lessons.
The idea is to provide some extra reading and to create a sense of community among all the future teachers and teachers in service.
